End of the Year Program Updates

Before we jump into 2024, we want to share some updates on our programming efforts for this semester. Our team has been diligently working to implement new ideas and tools to help us make an even greater impact on our community.

During the initial Journey of a King program sessions, students engaged in pre-assessments, which gave program managers a better outlook on each student at every grade level, both academically and mentally.

During our more recent program sessions, our Prince Charming students (4th-5th grade) are testing their reading comprehension using their National Geographic and Sports Illustrated subscriptions.

Our Measures of a Man students (6th-8th grade) are learning the importance of teamwork using Breakout EDU, an educational gaming software that engages students through collaborative activities. While in breakout sessions, the students learn how to process their emotions and build character through innovative programming.

Our Scholars & Gentlemen students (9th-12th grade) take an even deeper dive into character building by learning more about themselves through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality tests. This questionnaire can determine an individual’s personality, strengths, future education, and more. Students can use the test results to gain a better perspective on themselves and the world around them.

Our Pharaohs and Kings students (12th grade) have also worked hard to launch their upcoming podcast. Pharaohs and Kings is a new program that launched earlier this year. This program is designed to support twelve well-rounded male high school seniors in community- and youth-centered programming that promotes civic engagement, cultural exploration, and entrepreneurship.

With the new Pharaohs & Kings podcast, our students will have the opportunity to connect with Curious Minds, a group of students in Ghana, and explore their cultural differences related to education, politics, tradition, and so much more. This podcast will be available soon on our YouTube channel and other platforms. Details on the premiere of our first episode will be coming soon.

As we look ahead to the next year, we are eager to continue our programming efforts and explore new ways to make an even more significant impact. None of this would be possible without your continued support, and we are truly grateful.

Thank you for supporting us and being a champion for our mission. Together, we can make a world of difference.
